OUR LATEST NEWS

  • Youth sports officials are proceeding with plans to design a new indoor youth sports complex in Lawton.

Members of the Lawton Youth Sports Trust Authority approved a contract with Eastern Sports Management (ESM) in late January to oversee that design process, an agreement that also would allow ESM to act as the project manager, said Trust Authority Chairman Brian Henry. ESM President John Wack has said having design plans in hand is important because it will make Lawton’s applications for grant funding more attractive, a process that will help provide funds for construction of the $35 million building.

  • Hagerstown marks halfway point in field house construction with ‘topping-off’ ceremony.

City officials called it a "monumental milestone" in the construction of Hagerstown's new field house, which has been taking shape at the site of the former Municipal Stadium on Memorial Boulevard.

They gathered Friday during a "topping off" ceremony to watch the final steel beam being placed in the frame of the new facility, but not before grabbing markers to sign the beam for posterity.

  • Groundbreaking Held for Hagerstown Field House

Hagerstown will soon have a brand new field house like no other in Western Maryland. City officials say that although the field house is for everyone, it is mostly geared to the city’s local youth sports teams.

“This indoor sports facility is going to contain basketball courts, which can be converted into volleyball courts which can be converted into futsal courts which can be converted into pickleball courts, and it also has two indoor turf fields,” the President of Eastern Sports Management, John Wack said.
